Intermediate Youth Fencing Class
Great for kids and teens ages 7-13 years old who graduated from the Beginners' class.
Service Description
This intermediate youth fencing class is great for intermediate-level fencers who demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and abilities taught in the beginners' level class. Must get the coach's approval before joining this class. In this program, our students will be introduced to electrical scoring equipment so basic electric gear will be required to join this class. You can choose to rent the gear from the club at $35/month if you are not ready to buy equipment. At this level, students will be encouraged to attend open floor fencing sessions and compete at local and regional events, so the electrical gear will be extremely useful. In this class students should expect to learn: - Speed, agility, and coordination drills - Intermediate-level footwork and blade work techniques - Understand and use of electric fencing gear - Basic bout planning and strategies - Partner drills - Introduction to tournament setting. Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-5:30 PM Cost: 2 group classes per week (total 8 group classes a month): $200 per month NOTE: students in this group are eligible for open fencing bouting at no extra charge but must own personal fencing gear (or rent gear) to participate. Bundle: 2 group classes + weekly private lessons (total 8 group classes and 4 private lessons a month): $350 NOTE: This class should be combined with weekly private lessons for the best and desired results. Your fencer may get recommended to advance to the next level sooner with the help of consistent private lessons. For the class: - All participants in this class must be registered with the USA Fencing Association. You can have Access membership or Competitive membership. Please visit the USA Fencing website to renew or purchase your membership: https://www.usafencing.org/page/show/8044789-individual-membership - Please bring a personal water bottle - Must wear athletic attire (t-shirt, athletic shorts, athletic court shoes, or fencing shoes) NOTE: Please NO dresses, skirts, flip-flops, sandals, boots, heels, or jeans. - All long hair must be secured with hair tight/accessories to keep face and eyes open Fencing equipment: - Fencers in this level are expected to have most of their fencing gear OR may choose to rent ($35/moth). Cancellation Policy
When you register for a class, you reserve a spot for your athlete in the group. When the class is full, this will prevent from others to register. You will be enrolled in monthly recurring payments. You can cancel anytime as long as you notify us by the 15th of the month before the next transaction. To cancel your recurring payments, please e-mail your coach directly by the 15th of the month. There will be no cancellations or refunds processed after the 15th of the month and you will be charged fencing classes tuition for the following month.
