In this section you can learn about fencing tournaments. Bellow you can find the information about:

Tournament levels

Youth Beginners
(ages 7 - 14)

For all beginners of all ages and genders, it is a great idea to start participating at local events to gain experience. A definition of a local event is an event that is NOT Regional or National. Local events provide a great opportunity to learn about fencing competition formal event structure, rules, expectations, and meet fencers from other clubs.

Intermediate

Fencers at an intermediate level are strongly encouraged to participate at local and regional events. Local events are great to continue preparing for the higher level and local events are important for earning regional and national points.

Advanced

Advanced fencer's goal should be to qualify and attend events at a national events. Advanced fencers participate at local events to prepare for the higher level competition and at regional events to earn regional and national points that will allow them to qualify for Nationals and compete at the highest level.

Teens and Adults

Fencing is not just for kids! Many Teens and Adults choose to enjoy fencing as well! Fencing is a fun activity and offers tournaments for all ages and levels. Teens and adults who decide to practice fencing and tournaments are welcome to join local tournaments that are specifically designed for this category.

Requirements to compete at tournaments:

All fencers competing at any tournaments level are required to have a complete competitive fencing uniform. To learn more about the equipment list and requirements, please visit our "Fencing Equipment" page.
Must be members with the USA fencing:
- For local events the Access USA fencing membership is enough.
- For regional and national events, all competitors must have the Competitive Membership through the USA Fencing.
